Hi! I’m Lisa. I was born in Chicago, grew up in Chicago, LA, and Cape Cod. I’ve only been to one out-of-country island – Bermuda. I’m expanding my journeys to other places in the US and other parts of the world now that my children are grown and out of the house (well, almost).
I love to create dishes from sight and taste. I rarely follow recipes when it comes to savory food. I think everyone’s pallet is different. I love reading recipes and alternating ingredients with what I have in the fridge or pantry. This is where I get artistic.
I definitely follow recipes for baking though. Baking is a precise science, which is what I love about it. There is something to be said about how yeast reacts with flour and water, or how baking soda and baking powder do different things.
